15 inches of snow fell at Snowbowl in 24 hours, Flagstaff hit with late winter snowstorm

Northern Arizona got hit by a late-winter snowstorm this weekend as Maricopa County saw rain, according to the National Weather Service in Flagstaff.
Areas of Flagstaff saw three to five inches of snow, according to tweets from the weather service.
Munds Park received five inches, Forest Lakes received four inches, and Flagstaff Airport had nearly three, according to the tweet.
Snow is not unusual up north this time of year, said James Sawtelle, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Phoenix.
The storm gave Northern Arizona skiers and snowboarders a fresh coat for the week. Arizona Snowbowl received 15 inches of snow in 24 hours by 6 a.m. Sunday morning, Snowbowl said in a tweet.
