PD: One killed in crash on Scottsdale Road near Loop 202
TEMPE, AZ — A deadly crash has shut down a portion of Scottsdale Road and its Loop 202 ramps early Monday morning.
Tempe Police Department officials say two cars crashed on Scottsdale Road just south of the L-202 freeway around 2:15 a.m.
One driver suffered minor injuries, while the second driver was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. That second driver died at the hospital, police say.
Police say both directions of Scottsdale Road are shut down for the investigation and the on- and off-ramps are also blocked.
